The Project Scope

I first met Sarah & Hunter Lawrence through my friends Rocky and Sara Garza in Dallas. To know the Lawrences is to enter into a world of beauty, with a stunning Colorado backdrop, summers in Europe, and a the most lovingly curated home to boot. I actually got to sit and visit with Sarah while on a roadtrip along the California coast. We met at a hotel in Santa Barbara and sipped apperol spritz as the sun set and talked about travel, design, and the chapters of life we live.

It’s no surprise that the process of redesigning and developing The Lawrence House as a lifestyle hub for Sarah to document her travels, interior design, and adventures in motherhood was an experience in good taste and thoughtful aesthetics. Sarah brings such care, ease, and intention to her work and it shows in the images she produces and the brands she supports.

The Challenge

I

      actually designed a brand for The Lawrence House years ago for Sarah, Hunter, and their adorable dog Aspen. But after a few years of using the umbrella brand to house all 3 of their growing social profiles and individual projects, it became clear that each Lawrence needed their own brand, and with Sarah’s background in interior design and photography—keeping The Lawrence House for her projects made the most sense.

So while we wanted to fully explore Sarah’s aesthetic and philosophy for interior design, photography, and travel—we were also mindful of the history of The Lawrence House and how many of their followers would be use to seeing family content and an adorable golden retriever. We wanted to carefully migrate the brand over to Sarah without losing any of their loyal followers along the way.

Visual Concept

CASUAL COAST // ELEGANT MINIMALISM // MEDITERRANEAN NEUTRAL // THOUGHTFUL CHARM // PERSONAL STYLE

Inspired by Sarah's love of the Mediterranean ocean and the years she and her family spent living in Santa Barbara, we wanted the identity to have a casual coastal vibe that would give the brand a relaxed and flowy feel. We still kept things feeling elegant, elevated, smart and sophisticated so that her interior design style still felt polished and complete, but with the ease of a California coastal getaway.

Sarah also has a deep love of European style and elegant, minimal type design, and we were able to implement those details in a way that supported but didn't compete with her content. This gave her brand a sense of authority and sophistication, while remaining graceful—alluding to the female author behind the blog and the designer behind the brand.

Since she plans to share glimpses into her life and growing family, we kept a personal touch woven throughout the brand style. This did more than just create a sense of connection, it helped her build a greater level of trust with her audience as she continues to share thoughtful stories, and implement product recommendations and sponsorships among her content.

The Identity

A Beautifully Curated Home, Reminiscent of Long Afternoons on the Beach, with a Sparkling Apparol Spritz before Dinner among Friends.

The Lawrence House is a lifestyle brand for those seeking a life of ease and beautiful design. With a dedication to selecting products that celebrate both form and function, The Lawrence House is spacious and well-considered, comfortable to guests and representative of the people living in it. From brand reviews to travel stories, design projects and TLH products - The Lawrence House works with a carefully selected pool of brands who value high quality and sustainability, while also creating the context for those items to live in.

This brand identity is elegant and slightly feminine, but with a casual coastal flair and European delicacy. The subtle details in the typography are reminiscent of architectural lines and add an openness and fluidity that has kept the brand feeling personal and lighthearted. The logo mark for The Lawrence House is inspired by old family crests and personal signatures, presented in a new and modern format that compliments the main logo type lock while giving a fresh element to the brand. This is a beautiful, organic evolution of The Lawrence House built for years to come.

We really didn’t have a ton of feedback or changes that needed to be made. It was so beautiful and we love how it all came together. Again, THANK YOU for putting this brand together. It’s very encouraging to us as we take on this new season in business!
