Design Solution / Brand Message
We wanted to not only showcase Jess’ love for emotional photography, but also communicate a sense of who she is through her branding. We created a system of illustrations that communicates parts of her life that have contributed to her artistic expression - from the natural wonder of Washington to the mighty strength of horse training.
The perfect bride for Jess is concerned with the value of a moment and capturing it honestly. She delights in dramatic compositions and originality, collaborating with Jess to discover moments of pure beauty and love, in both the quiet and bold moments. The target audience for Jess needs to resonate with her personality, understand her artistic process, and invite her into their intimate life moments.
We created a custom logotype for Jess to be paired with her thoughtful taglines. This typeface was founded in Baskerville, but hand drawn to retain a bit of character and imperfection that felt both timeless and deeply personal. The type-driven primary logo was then complimented by illustrated brand accessories for a full cohesive visual aesthetic.
The color palette was intentionally minimal to allow the photography to shine. We added a few warm and natural tones to compliment her photography style without overpowering the image.
We used the foundational Baskerville typeface to work alongside the deconstructed logotype for a clean and refined look. The pure san-serif brand type palette works to represent the elegance and sophistication of her romantic brand.
The three brand accessory illustrations worked to share Jess’ story alongside her imagery. Her experience as a horse owner and trainer has given her the ability to notice how strength and grace pair together to show magnificent beauty. The cotton bulbs and fern are a nod to her Southern roots and Pacific home. All of the illustrations were hand-drawn and detailed to give a fine-art feeling to her overall branding.
A few months after working with Jess on her brand identity, we had the chance to come back and work with her to develop a custom packaging system that would elevate her client experience. Through soft textures, carefully selected images, and type play, we were able to show even more of Jess’ personal style through her photography packaging.
