Alina Baugh is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing across the San Francisco Bay Area. Before therapy became her full-time work, Alina spent two decades in the corporate world recruiting for companies like Oracle, Accenture, Gap, and Kaiser, as well as early-stage tech startups.

For a stretch, she was running both at once (and teaching kickboxing on top of it). That dual fluency became the whole point of her practice: she understands the ambitious, high-performing professional personally. When she finally chose therapy full-time, she brought that pragmatic, strategic, get-it-done sensibility into the room with her, describing herself as an editor of her clients’ life stories, helping them reflect on the story as it is now and revise it into the one they actually want to live.

The Challenge

When Alina came to us, none of that depth was visible in her brand. The identity was, in her own words, “boxy”—generic, easy to scroll past, and indistinguishable from the directories and big-box therapy platforms she was up against. More to the point, it wasn’t drawing the clients she most wanted to serve: discerning, private-pay professionals who would recognize the value of high-touch, solution-focused care. Her aspiration was to become the kind of practitioner someone reorganizes their week to see. Our challenge was to translate “a spa for the mind” from a dream into a fully realized brand: one that signals expertise, warmth, and quiet luxury, and positions Alina not as one more name in a directory, but as the obvious choice for the clients her entire life has prepared her to help.

Our inspiration for the visual brand came from the vision of elevated coastal living—that Ralph Lauren world of crisp whites, weathered woods, and water at golden hour layered with the calm, restorative quiet of a spa for the mind. We wanted the brand to feel warm and familiar for clients who associate therapy with something clinical or “woowoo,” while still signaling the high-end, exclusive experience Alina actually delivers. Think girl-next-door grown up: the polish of Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, approachable but unmistakably polished in an unfussy way. The end result is a timeless brand that blends the sophistication of a nautical, coastal sensibility with the warmth of a familiar face. The logo centers on an interlocking M+H monogram, drawn with the elegance of fine stationery and softened by a single flourishing loop that keeps it from feeling cold or corporate. The palette is pulled straight from the coast—Alabaster, Linen, and Cloud for breathing room, grounded by deep Harbor and Anchor navies, with Sandstone adding a warm, sandy neutral.

Licensed since 2011 and rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area, with offices in Alameda and Burlingame and virtual sessions across California, My Mental Health Spa specializes in solution-focused therapy for ambitious adults: couples working to bring fulfillment back into their relationship, professionals navigating ADHD and burnout, and high-performers untangling their relationship to money, work, and self. The new identity gives that work a home that finally matches its caliber: elevated, coastal, and classically luxurious, with the warmth of a familiar face and none of the clinical coldness clients have come to expect from therapy. More than a fresh coat of paint, this brand is a positioning play. Where the old visual identity blended Alina into a sea of directories and big-box platforms, the new one sets her apart as the discerning, private-pay choice, the therapist worth reorganizing your week to see. It establishes room to grow, too: a foundation flexible enough to support a future coaching arm that reaches clients beyond California’s borders and to recognize the recognition Alina has earned over two decades of doing the work. My Mental Health Spa now looks like what it has always been—a special place to be cared for, understood, and guided toward the next chapter. We can’t wait to see where Alina and the brand go from here!
